PRDesign™ is a Windows-based system that performs emergency pressure relief system design. Based upon user-input specifications, PRDesign™ rigorously designs or rates pressure relief valves, rupture disks and the associated inlet and outlet piping.

PRDesign™ uses API RP 520, 521 and DIERS methods. It calculates two-phase relief flow as well as single-phase relief flow using a rigorous integration of the Bernoulli Equation. The package uses the homogeneous equilibrium model (HEM) for two-phase fluid flow.

We have included ASPENPCD and DIPPR databanks for pure component data in PRDesign™. Mixtures are handled with the rigorous methods available in the PRO Aspen/PC physical property system.

Since PRDesign™ is completely Windows based, it has a very user-friendly point and click front end. It runs quickly and is specific to the pressure relief design and rating problem.

ThermoFlash™ is a PC Windows-based system that performs phase equilibrium and physical property calculations. Based on user-input specifications, ThermoFlash™ performs thermodynamic equilibrium calculations and determines thermal and transport property values. The calculations are applicable to pure components and mixtures.

We have included ASPENPCD and AIChE DIPPR 11.0 databanks for pure component physical property data in ThermoFlash™. Mixtures and phase equilibrium calculations are handled with the rigorous methods available in the PRO Aspen/PC™ physical property system. These methods include the Peng-Robinson and Soave-Redlich-Kwong equations of state and the Wilson and UNIQUAC activity coefficient correlations. Users can easily add any proprietary physical property parameters as needed or rely on the built-in data bank parameter values.

Since ThermoFlash™ is Windows based, it has a very user-friendly point and click graphical user interface. Help is available on line in ThermoFlash™. The program runs quickly and provides an easy to use rigorous physical property calculation method.

Two-Phase Flow   2-ø Flow™ - Process Plant Piping - Version 1.5

2-ø Flow™ is PC Windows-based software that performs process plant piping calculations for two-phase flow conditions. Based on user-input specifications, 2-ø Flow™ performs flow pattern calculations and determines pressure drop or line diameter.

The calculations are applicable to design of new lines and rating of existing lines. Several flow patterns and pressure drop correlations are available. The software is applicable to horizontal, inclined, or vertical upflow piping.

2-ø Flow™ is Windows based and has a user-friendly point and click graphical user interface. Help is available on line in 2-ø Flow™. The program runs quickly and provides an easy to use and systematic approach to two-phase flow calculations for industrial applications.

PIPESys™ PIPESys is used to calculate a line size for a specified maximum frictional pressure drop (design) or to calculate pressure drop for a given line size (rating) for single and two-phase fluid flow systems. This program is designed for process plant applications such as heat exchanger tubes, flow through piping, thermosyphon reboiler piping, etc. The fluid properties are rigorously calculated along the length of the piping system.
PRDesign™ Version 3.0 of PRDesign™ will have scenario analysis capability. This capability will be available in the third quarter of 2007.
